Replay-to-refresh — the flagship feature
Every other documentation tool stops at the moment of capture. Workflow Replay gives every captured workflow a Replay button. Click it, and Workflow Replay opens a real browser, executes every captured step against your live product, and rehydrates every screenshot in seconds. This is the entire reason the product exists; this doc walks the loop.
Step 1 — Open the workflow
Open the workflow from your Workflow Replay dashboard. The Replay button sits at the top of the editor.
Step 2 — Click the Replay button
Click Replay. Workflow Replay opens a real browser and walks the captured workflow against your live product. Multi-strategy element resolution (accessible name → role+text → semantic XPath → DOM hash → coordinate fallback) keeps the replay completing even when selectors shift. If a single step does need attention, we flag it.
Step 3 — Read the visual diff
When the replay finishes, a side-by-side visual diff shows you exactly what changed between the previous screenshots and the freshly captured ones. The new screenshots replace the old ones across every share link, every embed, and every export.
Step 4 — Regenerate exports
If you previously exported the workflow to a self-contained HTML file, regenerate the export so it ships with the freshly rehydrated screenshots. Share links update automatically; HTML files need a re-export by design (the file is self-contained).
You decide when to refresh
Replay is always user-triggered. The execution is automated; the trigger is always you. Refresh after a vendor release, before a customer training, or when an author flags a step as out of date. Nothing runs autonomously — your team stays in control of every Replay run.
